Averos pouch of 30 "Patches for Male Circulation"

What is it and how does it work?Averos

Not everyone likes swallowing capsules every day. That is the starting point of Averos: instead of a supplement you swallow, it comes as a transdermal patch that you stick on your belly in the morning.

The blue pouch holds 30 patches, a month's supply at one patch a day. It is labelled "Patches for Male Circulation" and highlights circulation, physical stamina and vitality. The official website lists six ingredients: Asian ginseng, damiana, fo-ti, gotu kola, saw palmetto and menthol. According to the manufacturer, the patch releases its ingredients through the skin steadily for 6 to 8 hours, and the menthol helps that absorption.

None of these ingredients has an authorised health claim in the EU: plant claims are still "on hold" in the official register1, and the list of authorised claims includes none for them2.

The manufacturer speaks of "performance-proven botanicals", but no trial of Averos itself has been published, and the studies on these plants almost all gave them by mouth, not through the skin. What we can check is the formula and what the studies on its ingredients say, which we summarise below.

Let's be realistic: Averos is not a medicine, and no product can guarantee a result. Age, sleep, diet, exercise, stress and overall health all matter a great deal, and every man responds differently.

The formula

Averos pouch of 30 "Patches for Male Circulation"

  • Asian ginseng: One of the most widely used plants in Asia for energy and vitality, and the ingredient in this formula with the most trials in men. The pouch highlights it together with damiana.
  • Damiana: A plant from Central America, traditionally used in preparations for intimate life. The manufacturer links it to circulation.
  • Fo-ti: Known as He shou wu in China, where it is associated with longevity. The manufacturer presents it as a source of "deep vitality".
  • Gotu kola: A plant from the Ayurvedic tradition, which the manufacturer links to healthy circulation and mental focus.
  • Saw palmetto: A North American palm whose berries are common in men's products. The manufacturer cites it for "hormonal balance".
  • Menthol: It gives a cooling feeling on the skin. According to the manufacturer, it helps the other ingredients pass through the skin.

The official website lists six ingredients: Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng, root), damiana (leaf), fo-ti (Polygonum multiflorum, root tuber), gotu kola (Centella asiatica), saw palmetto (Serenoa repens, berry) and menthol. No amount per patch is published.

How to use itOne patch in the morning

Recommended use: one patch a day, on the belly, on clean and dry skin, worn for 6 to 8 hours. The skin should be free of lotion, oil and hair so the patch sticks well. A pouch of 30 patches therefore lasts a month, and the manufacturer suggests making it part of your routine for 3 months.

  • Peel the patch off its protective film
  • Stick it on your belly, on clean, dry, hair-free skin
  • Wear it for 6 to 8 hours, never more than 8
  • One patch at a time, and never reuse one
  • Use a different spot for each new patch
  • Wash your hands after applying it

A patch is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. The manufacturer promises support "without spikes or crashes" for 8 hours; we do not repeat its promises.

Side effectsIs it safe?

Like any product applied to the skin, Averos can cause local irritation or an allergic reaction. If that happens, remove the patch, stop using it and ask a healthcare professional for advice. Before you start, check that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.

According to the official website, the patch is for external use only. Do not apply it to broken, irritated or sensitive skin, avoid contact with the eyes and use only one patch at a time. Fo-ti taken by mouth has been linked to reports of liver injury: if you have had liver problems, talk to your doctor.

The product is not suitable for anyone under 18. If you take medication or have a health condition, ask a healthcare professional before use. Averos is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it does not replace medical advice or prescribed treatment.

Where to buyThe official packs

The safest option is the official website. A product bought elsewhere may not be covered by the guarantee, and you cannot check where it comes from or what it contains. Note: the order page opens on the "subscribe" option, billed every 4 months; to pay once, tick "buy once".

Prices checked on the official website on
  • The original product

Pharmacy or Amazon?Where to find it

Many people look for Averos in pharmacies or on Amazon. When we searched on 21 October 2026, we found no listing for Averos in pharmacies, at other retailers or on a major marketplace. Averos is sold on the official Nutriveno shop, the only place where the 60-day guarantee applies.

The Averos in this review

  • "with Asian Ginseng & Damiana" and "1 Month Supply" on the front
  • Sold on nutriveno.com, with the 60-day guarantee

Why buy from the official website

  • It is where the original Averos is sold
  • The 60-day money-back guarantee applies
  • Price, delivery and total are shown before you pay

Is Averos a scam?The facts

The men's product market is full of exaggerated promises. Averos does not present itself as a miracle cure, but its page speaks of "performance-proven botanicals" although no study has tested the patch. What matters is what it contains and the terms of sale.

Reassuring points

  • Shop with an identified company (Globalis Retail Ltd, London) and written return terms
  • 60-day money-back guarantee
  • One-time purchase available and well-known payment methods (card, PayPal)
  • Customer service by email, with a stated reply within 1 to 2 working days

Worth knowing

  • The amount of each ingredient per patch is not published
  • The subscription is ticked by default on the order page
  • The studies concern the ingredients taken by mouth, not the patch
  • Delivery and return costs come on top
  • Results vary from person to person

Our verdict: Averos is not a scam in the sense of a product that never arrives or a dubious payment: the shop, the guarantee and the return terms are all in writing. But it is a plant-based patch, not a treatment, its formula publishes no amounts and the value of these plants through the skin has not been studied. If you want to try it, order from the official website and choose the one-time purchase so you are covered by the 60-day guarantee, and talk to your doctor if you take any medication.

Evidence

Studies cited

For each ingredient, we list two studies found in the scientific literature. The summaries describe what each study measured and found. They do not promise results: Averos does not state the amount of any ingredient, almost all the studies gave the plants by mouth rather than through the skin, several are small or not about men, and some found no effect. We found no published study on Averos itself.

Asian ginseng (root)

Cochrane systematic review of 9 randomised trials comparing ginseng with placebo in men with erectile dysfunction. Ginseng had a trivial effect on the erectile function score, may have improved self-reported ability to have intercourse, and caused no more side effects than placebo.

Limitation: The authors rate the certainty of the evidence as low; all the trials gave ginseng by mouth, at their own doses, while Averos is a skin patch that does not state its ginseng content.

Lee HW, Lee MS, Kim TH, et al. World J Mens Health. 2022;40(2):264-269. PMID 34169686 · Read on PubMed

Double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 143 men with erectile dysfunction: 1,000 mg of a tissue-cultured mountain ginseng extract twice a day for 8 weeks. Erectile function and overall satisfaction scores were higher than with placebo.

Limitation: Only 86 of the 143 men completed the trial; it used 2 g a day of a tissue-cultured mountain ginseng extract taken by mouth, not through the skin, and Averos does not state its ginseng content.

Kim TH, Jeon SH, Hahn EJ, et al. Asian J Androl. 2009;11(3):356-61. PMID 19234482 · Read on PubMed

Damiana (leaf)

Double-blind, placebo-controlled study in 77 women. After 4 weeks of a supplement combining damiana, ginseng, ginkgo, L-arginine, vitamins and minerals, 73.5% reported more satisfaction with their sex life, against 37.2% on placebo; no significant side effects were noted.

Limitation: Women only, taken by mouth, and damiana was one of several active ingredients, so its own effect cannot be separated; the study does not give the damiana dose.

Ito TY, Trant AS, Polan ML. J Sex Marital Ther. 2001;27(5):541-9. PMID 11554217 · Read on PubMed

Double-blind, placebo-controlled study in 108 women aged 22 to 73 who reported low sexual desire, using the same combination (damiana, ginseng, ginkgo, L-arginine, vitamins and minerals) for 4 weeks. Desire and satisfaction improved more than with placebo, with differences by menopausal status.

Limitation: Same research group and same oral mixture as the study above, in women; it says nothing about damiana alone, about men or about a skin patch.

Ito TY, Polan ML, Whipple B, Trant AS. J Sex Marital Ther. 2006;32(5):369-78. PMID 16959660 · Read on PubMed

Note: We found no trial of damiana on its own in people; both studies tested a mixture in women.

Fo-ti (root tuber)

Review of the clinical studies published on Polygonum multiflorum (He shou wu, sold as fo-ti in North America) and its isolated compounds. The studies it gathers concern pharmacokinetics, sleep disorders, blood lipids and neurodegenerative diseases.

Limitation: A narrative review, not a trial; none of the studies it covers measured sexual function or circulation in men, and none used a skin patch.

Bounda GA, Feng YU. Pharmacognosy Res. 2015;7(3):225-36. PMID 26130933 · Read on PubMed

Review of liver injury linked to Polygonum multiflorum. Reports of adverse reactions, especially liver damage, have increased with both the raw and the processed root; most cases were assessed for causality with the RUCAM method. The authors call for better quality control and safety monitoring.

Limitation: It is about safety, not benefits, and the cases involved fo-ti taken by mouth; we found no data on fo-ti applied to the skin.

Liu Y, Wang W, Sun M, et al. Front Pharmacol. 2019;10:1467. PMID 31920657 · Read on PubMed

Note: We found no trial of fo-ti for male vitality or circulation. If you have had liver problems, ask your doctor before using a product that contains it.

Gotu kola (Centella asiatica)

Randomised, placebo-controlled trial in 40 patients with severe venous hypertension and ankle swelling: 60 mg of a Centella asiatica triterpene fraction (TTFCA) twice a day for 8 weeks. Skin blood flow at rest, ankle swelling and capillary filtration decreased, with fewer signs and symptoms; no side effects were seen.

Limitation: Small trial on leg veins, not on male circulation or sexual function; it used a concentrated extract in tablets, and Averos does not state its gotu kola content.

Cesarone MR, Belcaro G, De Sanctis MT, et al. Angiology. 2001;52 Suppl 2:S15-18. PMID 11666117 · Read on PubMed

Cochrane review of oral "phlebotonics" for chronic venous insufficiency of the legs, with 69 randomised trials, two of them on Centella asiatica. As a group, these products probably reduce leg swelling slightly, make little or no difference to quality of life and slightly increase side effects compared with placebo.

Limitation: Results are pooled across many different products, with only two small Centella trials; the review found no topical product that met its criteria and did not look at men's sexual health.

Martinez-Zapata MJ, Vernooij RW, Simancas-Racines D, et al. Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2020;11:CD003229. PMID 33141449 · Read on PubMed

Note: The official website links gotu kola to "healthy circulation and mental focus"; the studies we found concern the veins of the legs.

Saw palmetto (berry)

Cochrane review of 32 randomised trials with 5,666 men with urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate. Saw palmetto was no better than placebo for urinary symptoms, night-time urination, urine flow or prostate size, even at double and triple doses.

Limitation: It is about the prostate, not sexual function or circulation; the trials used standardised extracts taken by mouth, while Averos does not state its saw palmetto content.

Tacklind J, MacDonald R, Rutks I, et al. Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2012;12:CD001423. PMID 23235581 · Read on PubMed

Updated Cochrane review of 27 trials with 4,656 men. Saw palmetto alone made little or no difference to urinary symptoms or quality of life, and probably made little or no difference to side effects.

Limitation: Same limits as above: urinary outcomes only, in men with an enlarged prostate, with saw palmetto taken by mouth.

Franco JVA, Trivisonno LF, Sgarbossa N, et al. World J Mens Health. 2024;42(3):518-530. PMID 38164033 · Read on PubMed

Note: The official website presents saw palmetto as an aid to "hormonal balance"; neither review measured hormones.

Menthol

Laboratory study in healthy volunteers: menthol gels applied to the skin increased blood flow in the skin under the gel compared with a placebo gel, and the effect grew with the menthol concentration (from 0.04% to 8%). Blocking the skin nerves reduced the effect.

Limitation: The effect is local, in the skin where the gel was applied; it says nothing about circulation elsewhere in the body or sexual function, and Averos does not state its menthol content.

Craighead DH, Alexander LM. Microvasc Res. 2016;107:39-45. PMID 27131832 · Read on PubMed

Study in 10 young adults: after a 4% menthol gel was applied, menthol was found in the skin within 30 minutes and had cleared by 60 minutes. Skin blood flow rose from about 15 to 45 minutes after application, and the cooling sensation lasted about an hour.

Limitation: Very small study with a gel, not a patch; the effect lasted under an hour, far shorter than the 6 to 8 hours the patch is worn, and it did not measure whether menthol helps other ingredients through the skin.

Craighead DH, McCartney NB, Tumlinson JH, Alexander LM. Microvasc Res. 2017;110:43-47. PMID 27899298 · Read on PubMed

Note: The official website says menthol helps the other ingredients pass through the skin; we found no study that tested this with Averos or its plant extracts.
